This is one of my favourite Jazz pieces to play. I have included a free tab for it in this blog. Ain't Misbehavin was written by Fats Waller and Harry Brooks, with lyrics by Andy Razaf. It was released in 1929 and has really stood the test of time well.
I play it in the Key of C using a chord melody method (where I play the chords and melody at the same time). It is not 100 % chord melody as at certain times I only play chords and at other times only the melody - but it works really well. The song ahs been recorded by all the greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Django Rheinhardt, Dave Brubeck, Hank Williams and numerous others.
I am performing the piece on my beautiful Pete Howlett/Paul Mansell Student Tenor Ukulele. There are still a handful of these available to purchase if anyone is interested.
I hope you enjoy it.
